Rudy takes dig at PM, Congress for 'double standard' on terrorism

Former Union Minister and BJP National General Secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy here on Wednesday took a dig at the Prime Minister and the Congress leadership for its double standard on the acts of terrorism in the country.

While talking to media persons, Rudy condemned the gruesome Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh that killed over 28 persons including senior Congress leaders Mahendra Karma and the Chhatisgarh Congress Committee Chief Nand Kumar Patel dead. He said the Congress party was unnecessarily politicizing the Chhattisgarh Maoist attack. Whatever happened in Chhattisgarh cannot be treated as a normal incident. In fact, the incident is a war of anti-democratic people against the country. The incident cannot be treated as a State subject and the whole nation will have this vicious menace together.

The senior BJP leader said that it was quiet unfortunate that the Congress party was unnecessarily politicising this issue. Talking about the responsibility for such incident in Raipur few days back by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi clearly speaks of the Congress party’s double standard.

Putting blame on the State Government for such an incident is totally uncalled for. Why such questions were not raised during the Hyderabad and Delhi blasts, Rudy said adding that the Congress party raises such questions only when incidents of this nature  takes place in the BJP-ruled states. The Bharatiya Janata Party would like to seek explanations from the Congress president for its irresponsible statements, he added.
