The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Friday witnessed an uproarious scene when ruling BJP members put the Government in the dock over removal of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) in Khandwa district headquarters.
As soon as Question Hour began, Devendra Verma of the BJP raised the issue relating to transport mismanagement in Khandwa town and police excesses on the common people and traders. He demanded removal of the DSP in question with immediate effect.
In his reply, Home Minister Babulal Gaur denied any irregularities in transport department prevailing in the town and said the Nagar Suraksha Samity would look into the matter if any problem with transport existed there. He also claimed that no police personnel misbehaved. He said that the municipal corporation also maintains the transport system and they should own the responsibility.
Meanwhile, Rajendra Phoolchand Verma of the BJP also supported his party member and said responsibilities should not be left on such corrupt police officials who extract money from the common man. The Congress members, led by Ramniwas Rawat, also stood up and supported the BJP members.
As the Minister did not agree to remove the DSP, members of both the Treasury and the Opposition benches continued to create ruckus.
