The RTOs of major districts of the State could not complete their targets. They could recover only 85 per cent tax from the vehicles up to March 31. In the financial year 2014-15, they had to recover revenue of Rs2,000 crore, but they could recover only Rs1,862 crore only up to March 31, ie Rs138 crore, which is less than the target.
According to official sources, there are more than two dozens districts where the RTOs could not complete the target. The Transport Commissioner, Shailendra Shrivastava said that the field staff made efforts up to final dates to complete the targets so much successes was achieved.
