Right To Information (RTI) activist from the city, Ajay Dubey has questioned the authority of Madhya Pradesh lokayukta in conducting enquiry of former Deputy lokayukta Justice Chandresh Bhushan’s pension and cashing holidays issue. “At the time, when the enquiry in MPPEB scam is on, such activities are not proper and are highly objectionable,” Dubey said. Notably, Justice Bhushan is now Chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to monitor the ongoing probe into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board MPPEB scam.
Dubey in a statement on Sunday, said, “The lokayukta organisation that runs on the hard earned money of people, is meant to get people rid of corruption and is accountable towards the people. But when this organisation starts enquiry into the issues pertaining to its own former Deputy lokayukta’s financial facilities including pension and cashing holidays on the basis of applications addressed to lokayukta as per the lokayukta act then, it becomes painful and appears to be a case of misuse of power.”
Dubey further said that the lokayukta has invited Justice Bhushan and senior officials of State’s finance and general administration departments for discussions over case number 308/2013 in that Justice Bhushan is applicant. “It is well known fact that Justice Bhushan is the chairman the SIT that is monitoring the biggest ever educational and recruitment scam of the country. We have come to know that the Madhya Pradesh Government that has earlier given in writing that Justice Bhushan has taken benefits of cashing holidays in his previous tenure is all set to take a U-turn in the case that would not only be unacceptable, but also would be immoral,” he added.
The Rights activist said that at time of MPPEB scam that is infamous now as VYAPAM scam such activity is not proper and is highly objectionable. He said similarly, the lokayukta is also doing enquiry in case number 309/2013 pertaining to the family pension of Justice Bhushan whereas the MP Government and the accountant general have already rejected this demand. But now, the MP Government is surprisingly adopting soft stand over the issue, he added.
