Right To Information (RTI) activist from the State capital Ajay Dubey has alleged irregularities in the appointment of Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) and Information Commissioners (ICs) in Madhya Pradesh and threatened of reaching court doors if the Government does not roll back these appointments.
Dubey in a statement here on Wednesday said, “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Satyadev Katare should tell the people of the State that who is responsible for the mistakes committed during the appointment of CIC and ICs.”
Many irregularities were committed during the appointments of CIC and ICS. When the government issued advertisements for the appointments of all eleven posts than why it made six appointments. Whereas the government is well aware that over 20, 000 cases are pending in which some cases are pending since 2005, he added.
Dube said that KD Khan who is serving in higher judicial service was selected as the CIC did not apply through proper channel that was MPHC as per the norms. His application was submitted by his assistant without taking NOC of the department. Why selection committee did not noticed this and if it was in its knowledge than why it was overlooked.
He said that similarly Sukhraj Singh who was serving as director general lokayukta police was selected as the IC does not applied as per the norms and his application too was submitted by his assistance without NOC.
He said that at the time of selection Khan and Singh were holding office of profit than why their candidature was considered as it was against the act, he added. He said the applications of IC selected Gopal Krishan Dandotiya who was adviser of Baal Bharti and Jaikishan Sharma a journalist was submitted with the government before the post was publicized and is similar. Was it a coincidence or special grace of the government and leader of opposition, he added.
The RTI activist said that why Heeralal Trivedi who is facing serious allegation of dowry harassment charges by his daughter in law was selected. Was there dearth of good people or he was selected only because earlier he was OSD of leader of opposition. He said, “I have demanded from the governor that the selected persons should not be granted his nod and if still they are appointed we would knock court doors.”
