RTI activist alleges anti-people attitude by Information Commissioner

Right To Information (RTI) activist from the city Ajay Dubey alleged that Information Commissioner (IC) of Madhya Pradesh State Information Commission (MPSIC) Gopal Krishna Dandotiya has adopted anti-people attitude.

He said that Dandotiya neither called MPPEB for hearing nor sought its reply over his complaint in order to patronise the chairman of MPPEB Ashok Pande who hails from the same Shivpuri district that the IC belong and rejected the complaint. Dubey in a statement here on Wednesday said, “The institution responsible to ensure people of Indian Republic their fundamental right of RTI, MPSIC’s Information Commissioner Gopal Krishna Dandotiya has adopted anti-people attitude.”

Dubey said that it is well known fact that the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) has defamed in the country due to the irregularities committed by it in conducting examinations and the Special Task Force of the MP police id investigating the case.

He said that in these circumstances to fight corruption with the help of rights given to us by Indian Constitution and Indian Parliament we asked some questions on July 30 like information about meetings of MPSIC chairman and its members, Chief Minister and senior officers meetings. We also wished to know examination rules, reservation rules, record destroying and the objectionable changes made in the MPSIC besides demanding to examine the original records and necessary photo copies of the documents.

He said that when we did not got the requisite information in 30 days then we lodged complaint under RTI Section 18 with MPSIC IC Gopal Dandotiya who is in-charge of Indore division after that immediately we got the required information from the MPPEB through post that was incorrect and incomplete. We informed Dandotiya about it on November 17. Dandotiya who is a native of Shivpuri district rejected the plea that was in the interest of the people in very objectionable manner. In the process the IC also crushed the basic spirit of the information act. Due to his masterful attitude the MPPEB got undue advantage and many mysteries of the biggest educational and recruitment scam of the country could not be uncovered, he added.
