In its effort to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister and to win the maximum number of seats in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will be actively working in the poll management arena of all 40 parliamentary seats in the two States.
According to sources within the RSS, organisation chief Mohan Bhagwat will personally oversee poll-related activities of the organisation in the 29 and 11 parliamentary seats of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh respectively. Bhagwat, who is in Bhopal for a four-day coordination committee programme, reportedly asked RSS office-bearers to make sure that at least one RSS worker is deputed on every polling booth in both the States.
“There is a possibility that due to rivalry between BJP leaders, the party might suffer on some seats. Hence to negate this, an RSS worker will be deputed at every booth, who will be responsible for poll management in that particular booth. Bhagwat also directed RSS cadre to work closely with BJP workers on the ground. One of the important directions issued to regional RSS office-bearers was to make sure that more and more people are brought to polling booths to vote”, a source familiar with the development said.
RSS office-bearers and volunteers from four provinces (prants) of Central region- Mahakoshal, Madhya prant, Malwa and Chhattisgarh are attending the four-day meet.
According to sources, Bhagwat reportedly told office-bearers that the electorate in the country was in the mood to punish the Congress-led UPA Government and hence it was important to make sure that voters reach the polling booth.
The RSS chief also directed the office-bearers of the organisation to strictly follow the policy of ‘door to door’ and ‘man to man’ interaction while campaigning for the BJP.
Members of other allied organisations have also been asked to closely coordinate with the ground level RSS workers towards their collective mission of making BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi the next PM.
