The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that investment worth about Rs2 lakh crore has came to the State during the past two years only while two lakh new employments have been created during this period.
BJP Madhya Pradesh president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan in a statement here on Saturday said, “The review of the Global Investors Summits (GIS) held in the state during 2012-14 shows that the state received investment of Rs, 1 .96 thousand crore. If an investment of Rs 1.96 thousand crore came against the commitment of Rs 3 lakh crore in the period when the world is passing through slowdown than it would be considered as an unprecedented achievement.”
Chouhan without providing any support document to his claim further said that Congress leaders should be proud of state becoming destination for investors but they are asking to release white paper over the issue whereas during the erstwhile Congress rule the state was made graveyard of industries as there was neither electricity nor water and the identity of roads was in shape f pits, he added.
He said that during the tenure of Congress chief minister Digvijay Singh 11965 factories were shut down and lakh of people became unemployed while Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of BJP has provided momentum to industrialization in the state and during this regime the small and medium industries started in the state created 2 lakh employments. There are 48,000 industries in the small and medium industries category, he added.
