Miscreants targeted a trader and stole Rs 13.5 lakh from the dickey of his scooter at Islampura under Talaiya police station area on Tuesday.
According to the police, the victim Faizan Qureshi had gone to make payment to dealers and when he returned the cash from the dickey was found stolen.
Police said that the victim had gone to make payment after withdrawal of money from State Bank of India and after collecting the payment when he went to his shop and parked the scooter and went answer nature’s call. later when he returned the cash was stolen.
The police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and have started further investigation. During the investigation police found that the locks of the dickey were found intact.
Police suspects that the victim was intercepted and followed and later when the victim parked the scooter the miscreants targeted the scooter.
The victim had gone to Islampura on his scooter bearing registration number MP37ME 4478 in which the cash was kept. The victim is a resident of Jehangirabad and runs a shop in Islampura area.
After the victim returned the scooter was not be found where it was parked and was found at a distance of few meters from the parked spot. The victim checked the dickey and found that the cash was stolen.
In the initial investigation victim has told the police that he had withdrawn money from the bank and CCTV footage of the bank would be searched in the investigation.
