The Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully rescued a 15-year-old minor traveling alone on Train No. 12722 Dakshin Express and ensured his safe return to his family. The incident occurred during a routine patrol between Bina and Bhopal, when RPF jawan Vijaykant Sharma noticed the boy traveling under suspicious circumstances.
Upon questioning, the boy identified himself as Farman, son of Naushad Khan, a resident of Chhoti Bajariya, Bina. Farman revealed that he had left home without informing his family in search of a job in Bhopal and had lost contact with them. He provided his family’s contact details, allowing the RPF to act swiftly.
The RPF team brought Farman to Bhopal station, where he was handed over to senior female staff member Sandhya Chaudhary. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) was informed, and member Dhaniram Pawar guided the process. Following CWC instructions, Farman was safely reunited with his family with the help of 'Nitya Seva Society,' a local NGO.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria commended the RPF’s timely intervention, noting that the alertness and sensitivity of its personnel have helped numerous vulnerable individuals. He stressed that the railway administration continues to prioritize social responsibilities alongside passenger safety.
This rescue operation was conducted as part of 'Operation Muskan,' an initiative by Indian Railways aimed at tracing and rehabilitating missing children. The RPF's swift action highlights its commitment to safeguarding passengers, particularly minors in distress.
Such efforts underscore the importance of vigilance and collaboration between railway authorities, welfare committees, and NGOs to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable individuals during train travel.
The successful rescue of Farman also sheds light on the importance of community involvement in ensuring the safety of minors. The collaboration between the RPF, the Child Welfare Committee, and the local NGO 'Nitya Seva Society' showcases how a coordinated approach can significantly aid in protecting vulnerable individuals.
