Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal organised Debate Competition for the students of class 11 and 12 on Thursday on the theme ‘Plastic is a boon towards forest conservation’.
Total 21 students from various schools of Bhopal participated in the competition. In-charge of the museum and Scientist-B Manoj Kumar Sharma welcomed the jury members, participants and teachers.
Pooja Makwana told that Plastic is a remarkable invention during her debate in favour of the motion. She also elaborated that plastic is eco-friendly, now a day’s many items like furniture, doors, window made up of plastic and conserved the trees. Similarly, Tanu Mishra told that Plastic changed the scenario of the world after its invention.
On the other hand, against the motion Master Sachin Bedi told, “We are degrading our environment due to plastic. Plastic is a curse for the environment.” Similarly, Kripali Shahiwala told that plastic is destroying forest, wildlife and human life.
For the motion, the first prize bagged by Payodhi Agrawal from Sharda Vidya Mandir, Barkhedi Kalan, Bhopal and Shivani Maheshwari from Carmel Convent Sr Sec School, BHEL, Bhopal jointly. Mini Susan Jose from St Raphael Co-ed School, Jatkhedi, Bhopal scored the third prize while, Mansi Singh from Mansarovar Public School, Kolar Road, Bhopal bagged the encouragement prize.
For against the motion, the first prize bagged by Kripali Shahiwala from Mother Teresa Sr Sec Co-ed School, Kolar Road, Bhopal and Master Aarya Garg from Carmel Convent Sr Sec School, BHEL, Bhopal jointly. Avnish Pandey from Bal Bharati Public School, Nishatpura, Bhopal scored third prize while Jannat Javed from Canyon HS School, Bhopal and Master Sachin Bedi from Govt Naveen Girls HS School, Chunabhatti, Bhopal bagged the encouragement prize. Prizes will be awarded to prize winners on later date.
Vipin Vyas, Associate Professor from Barkatullah University, Bhopal; Alok Saxena, Chief Chemist from Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Bhopal and CS Dubey, Former Deputy Conservator of Forest, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh were the Jury Members of this debate competition.
Scientist-B of the museum Manik Lal Gupta was the coordinator of the programme.
