Rights activist from the State capital Ajay Dubey has alleged corruption to the tune of crores in the supply of poor quality solar power plants by Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (UVN) in the World Bank funded project for newborns.
While talking to mediapersons, Dubey said that on July 8 too he had exposed as how the UVN is delivering poor quality solar power plants. The UVN refuted our allegations on the same day by issuing a press release in that it provide twisted facts, wrong information and hide important information to mislead the media and people, he added.
Dubey further said that in order to clear the charges leveled by us and to make them more meaningful we are providing some additional information over the issue. Megatek Company established Solar Plant in Raj Bhawan Bhopal as pilot project in the year 2011 and due to its poor quality a case was registered in the lokayukta on our complaint and investigation is going on. The UVN in its clarification mislead by providing false information about High Court order whereas the fact is that there is no court order in this regard and the whole story was created to oblige Megatek for UVN bosses own personal benefits, he added.
He said that had the UVN be honest it would have registered criminal case against the concerned officer and the company but contrary to it the Managing Director (MD) Manu Shrivastava and Executive Engineer (EE) Deshmukh deliberately covered up the forgery points and mislead the people and the funds of honest tax payers and helping institution like World Bank were misused. Deshmukh is involved in a case of forgery since 2002 FIR of that was registered by the UVN against him in Habibganj Police Station in 2002. Despite this the MD made this corrupt office in-charge of solar project, he added.
He said we demand from the chief minister that to save the infants and pregnant from untimely death the UVN MD and EE should immediately me suspended and action must be initiated against them by registering criminal case.
