Another flick of Kangna Ranaut, Revolver Rani released here on Friday received mixed response from cinema-goers.
After impressing the audience with her performance in Queen, Kangna has given another outstanding performance in Revolver Rani. The transformation from a bandit to a woman in love was wonderfully portrayed by Kangna.
As far as the concept and story line is considered, the first half of the movie is good but the pace was too slow. As the movie reaches the second half it catches up the story of gang war which is good for those who enjoy the gang fight.
The story begins introducing Kangna as Alka Singh. She is a girl born in a Thakur family longing for a male heir who soon turns into man of the house. And the makeover begins with shooting her father’s murderer to death. That’s when Alka Singh makes her first killing. Alka loses elections to Uday Bhan Singh in Chambal, who uses corrupt practices to rise. Her sole agenda is now to expose Uday Bhan Singh in front of the public and emerge victorious. She succeeds in doing that. But then, she falls in love, and her priorities change.
Her political rival, Udaybhan Singh Tomar (Zakir Hussain) sets up a trap for Alka to take the revenge of his brother’s killing. There enters the lover boy Rohan (Vir Das) and Alka’s transformation from a gun-toting politician to a woman in love begins.
The story is tight and dialogues are crisp, director Sai Kabir shows mark of an experienced filmmaker. Revolver Rani is supposed to be a masala movie. It is also intended to be a black comedy but the masses might not be able to appreciate this dark comedy.
