The petrol and diesel price hike in Madhya Pradesh is triggering anger among the people. The common man is not able to bear the expenses with such a sudden price hike of petrol and diesel.
As the prices of petrol and diesel continue to soar, the people are criticizing the increased rates as it has created hole in their pockets. In Bhopal, the petrol price touched Rs 82.47 per litre while diesel reached at Rs 71.66 per litre.
Fumed over the price hike the Bhopalites have shared their view points with The Pioneer. The Bhopalites have similar views regarding the price hike and that is about the ‘middle class’ which is greatly affected by the sudden price hike.
“It is a big crisis that has fallen on common man’s pocket and is greatly affecting the budget,” said a renowned theatre artist Shalini Gupta. She further said, “When I started driving in 90’s the petrol rates were Rs 32 and now nobody can ever imagine that the rates would reach Rs 82. This is too much and a salaried person cannot even bare the expenses.”
On the other hand, Shibani Ghosh founder of Parvarish The Museum School said, “Whenever it is a hike in commodities or petrol the greatly affected people are middle class. The elite ones have nothing to do with the hike not the lower class as lower class travel via public transport mostly. But the middle calss family usually get affected and that too terribly.”
She further said, “When I started driving the petrol was just Rs 19. The government should look into this matter very seriously and take up our suggestions.”
While talking about the huge price hike an educationist Kala Mohan said, “The biggest part of concern is the highly affected mental status of a middle class man. He not only has to bare his expenses but has to look after the entire family. His children wife and others, this affects his mental condition and nw with this price hike where will he cut down the budget.”
Elaborating further she said, “This acceleration disturbs and imbalances the entire family budget of a salaried person which is too wrong.”
