In the Sarnath capital (which is currently situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India) there are four Asiatic lions standing back to back - symbolising power, courage, pride, and confidence - mounted on a circular abacus. The abacus is girded with a frieze of sculptures in high relief of an elephant (of the east), a horse (of the south), a bull (of the west), and a lion (of the north), separated by intervening wheels, over a lotus in full bloom, exemplifying the fountainhead of life and creative inspiration. Carved out of a double block of polished sandstone, the capital is crowned by the Wheel of the law (Dharma Chakra).
lt General PG Kamath while addressing the audience told that Mhow is one of the best cantonments where Army and civilians stay together in complete harmony. He further said, “During the postings, the Army personnel cannot keep his family with him but in Mhow they can stay with their families. In past years, the number of Army personnel has grown and the accommodation facility in Mhow station is very less. We need more number of accommodations at the station. Army is an important part of civil and civilians are an important part of the Army. We sacrifice our present for the beautiful and prosperous future of civilians.”
Cantonment board CEO Alok Gupta, deputy president Kailash Pande, officers and junior commissioned officers of Army and all corporators of Mhow cantonment board were present during the function. The motto of the emblem is “Truth alone Triumphs”.
