Rebels have their way as State BJP agrees to terms

The State leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has bowed down before the rebels in the run for the cooperatives elections in the State and has agreed to their terms.

The BJP organisation is appearing to be dwarf in front of its own giant leaders. After the open rebellion by setting aside the party guidelines by the relatives of the giant leaders in the cooperative elections the tone of the organisation has changed and it has been forced to change its own decision due to the opposition within the party. It has also provided free hand to the observers to act as per the local conditions. The party organisation has agreed to the terms of the relatives of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Now, the relatives of Tomar would field their

followers in the cooperative elections.

Thursday was the last day for filing nominations for the cooperatives elections and at many places the authorised candidates of the party could not file their nomination. They were stopped by the top leaders of the state and were told that they are not eligible while nominations of confidants of rebel leaders were filed at the place of these authorised candidates. The party also made last minute changes in its official list of candidates.

Party sources informed that the party agreed to the terms of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s brother in law and former chairman of Datia cooperative Bank Roop Singh Tomar and former legislator of Morena Shivmangal Singh Tomar. Both these relatives of union minister rebelled against party decision. Party state president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan talked to them and promised them that the party candidate would be of their choice after that these leaders got pacified.

Sources further told that after state presidents talks with Tomars whole of the panel and candidates were selected as per their wish and for this the party stopped those from filing nominations who were earlier declared as official candidates. With these the party also managed to pacify rebels from Dhar, Rajgarh, Sagar, Ratlam and Vidisha.
