Jehangirabad police have booked a property developer for selling the same house to two different people and duped to the tune of Rs 3 lakh; a case was registered on Saturday.
Police said that the victim Aseem George of Jabalpur was duped by the accused Jitendra Mamtani in the name of providing flat at Icon society in Kolar but later sold the flat to some other person.
The victim in his complaint stated that in the year 2010 the victim met the accused Jitendra Mamtani who offered him a house in his colony which would be developed and the booking amount was Rs 3 lakh while for the remaining amount of Rs 10 lakh the victim availed loan which he was repaying but later he found that the accused has sold the property to some other person and lodged a complaint with the police.
The victim provided the money to the accused in the year 2011 and was repaying loan and stopped paying the loan after he got information that the property was sold to some other person.
The police have registered a case under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC and started further investigation.
During the investigation police have not found any other victims who have been duped by the accused but it is possible that the accused has duped several other victims which would be investigated in the further investigation.
The accused is yet to questioned and detained. His whereabouts are yet to be found by the police.
