'Read Cong's history of cruelty on Dalits'

Architect of Indian Constitution Bhimrao Ambedkar suffered insults from Nehru to Manmohan Singh; it is only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that honoured Ambedkar. Congress parliamentarian Jyotiraditya Scindia should rightly study history and should know the Congress’ tradition of Dalit suppression, said State Minister (Independent Charges) General Administration, Narmada Valley Development, Aviation-lal Singh Arya while reacting over Scindia’s statement that BJP is out to make Dalit-free India.

Arya in a statement issued here on Thursday by the BJP State Communication Centre said, “Congress leader and former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia either do not have the knowledge of Congress history of atrocities on Dalits and their ignorance or he considers the people of country unwise. The fact is that the Congress that ruled the country single handedly for over six decades did not allowed making Dalits stand with honor. It considered them as mere vote bank not humans.”

“Not only this, the National Hero-Bhimrao Ambedkar who raised voice for Dalits dignity with complacency and fought to get them rights under the constitution was continuously insulted and ignored right from Congress first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh,” Arya added.

Arya strongly objecting over the statement of Scindia that the BJP is out to make ‘Dalit free India’ further said that Scindia’s preposterous statements could not hide the historical facts. He should know the fact that it was the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government of the centre that bestowed upon Ambedkar with the highest honor of the country the Bharat Ratna, he added.

He said that the stage to insult the inspirational force of Dalits and their mentor Ambedkar was set right from the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru. Scindia should correct his facts and should know that when in 1952 Ambedkar contested from Mumbai then Nehru made all out efforts to defeat him, he added.
