Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party organisational general secretary Arvind Menon called on the party workers and office-bearers of all levels to reach out to the masses in the next 20 days with the mega membership drive of the party. Menon was reviewing the membership drive progress in a joint meeting of State office-bearers, divisional membership in-charge and lifetime party workers here on Tuesday at party’s state headquarters Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya campus.
Menon said, “The members, office-bearers and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and Mahila Morcha of the party should indulge with full might in the drive as Chalo booth ki oar (let’s move towards booth). Divisional in-charges should establish dialogue with at least 30-40 new members and pursue them to become active members.”
Menon further said that as per the work plan for the next and decisive phase of the membership drive, the BJYM should make educational institutes, educational complexes, hostels and coaching institutes   as centre of membership drive to focus on the young and new voters. Efforts should be made to bring in every youth in the party fold in the campaign that would be of three days each from March 9 to 11 and March 16 to 18. The district in-charges of the BJYM would carry forward the membership drive by putting up stalls near the educational institutes, he added.
He said that the Mahila Morcha and the Schedule Caste Morcha should organise membership camps in all the rural and urban areas of the State.
The senior BJP leader said that encouraging results have come from the way various cells of the party have carry forward membership drive by putting up stalls at different places.  Take advantage of Holi festival and organise Holi Milan programmes and put up membership stalls there so that advantage of festival could be taken for the drive, he added.
