Rural Development department will extend assistance to establish 100 sericulture nurseries on 1,000 hectares in the State. Addl CS Aruna Sharma has directed departmental staff to connect 50,000 farmers with sericulture this year and provide fertilisers, seeds, saplings and amount for developing caterpillars to farmers. Principal Secretary Cottage and Village Industry Praveer Krishna informed that he inspected sericulture centres in Vidisha and Ashok Nagar districts. Sericulture sector has immense potential of expansion. Sericulture centres will be developed at important and prime locations.
