Bairagarh police have arrested accused who raped a minor girl, accused was nabbed near Bairagarh bus stand while trying to flee to village.
A case was registered against him on Friday under the POCSO Act, including rape and obscene acts. On Saturday, the accused youth was produced in the court and sent to jail.
Station in-charge DP Singh told that the 16-year-old minor girl is studying in ninth grade and lives in the Bairagarh area. While registering a complaint at the police station on Friday night, she stated that accused Ravi Maran (19) father Thakur Prasad Maran used to follow her while on her way to school for the last one year. In the past, once the accused had raped her by threatening her. He does obscene acts with her every day.
The police filed a case on the complaint of the victim. The accused got the information and sensing that he would be arrested he escaped his house and went missing.
Later during the investigation police got information that the accused was trying to flee in a bus near Bairagarh and based on the information police reached and nabbed the accused.
After the preliminary investigation police have registered a case under POCSO Act against the accused. Further details and crime record would be investigated of the accused.
