Accused of alleged sexual harassment of several deaf mute students at hostel in Awadhpuri, Ashwini Kumar has been sent to one-day police custody after he was produced in the court on Monday in the State capital.
Bhopal SP (South) Rahul Kumar lodha said that the statements of the Prabha Somvanshi have been recorded and nothing could be inferred as it is a part of investigation and in case her involvement is revealed, action would be taken.
lodha who also head the SIT formed to investigate the mass harassment of dumb-deaf students at hostel denied information regarding fifth victim and said that evidences have been collected but to conclude anything after every evidence found or information received is not possible and would be shared during the investigation.
He also denied sharing any information regarding the statements recorded by the four victims when they were confronted with the accused as it could harm the investigation.
Apart from the four victims which surfaced in the investigation fifth victim from Bhopal emerged and lodged complaint but police denied any information regarding the fifth victim’s appearance.
During the investigation police found that the shelter home was registered as boys’ hostel and got a sanction of Rs 5,97,600 in the name of boys hostel from the social justice and welfare department.
On Tuesday the woman Congress would organize state wide protest against the sexual harassment of dumb –deaf student of hostel at Avadhpuri. All the collector offices would witness protest and along with the woman Congress Youth Congress and District Congress would also join the protest.
