A rally ‘Pray for Gaza- A rally against inhumanity’ in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza was organised here on Thursday.
Few students of the city stood up against the violence being committed on Gaza by Israeli forces and organised a rally urging the masses to pray for the innocents being harmed in the airstrikes. The rally began here from Shahjani Park till Iqbal Maidan.
As it was a peace rally, the students were holding banners with the slogans like ‘Break the Silence- Pray for Gaza’ and ‘Be a Human Pray for Gaza.’
While talking to The Pioneer, organizer of the rally Faiz Khan said, “It is all about being a human. Till date, many Palestinians have been killed and hundreds of them are wounded. Most of the casualties are civilians, many of whom are women and children. Besides, water and sewer systems in Gaza are being destroyed.”
The motive behind organizing this peace rally was to urge the people to pray for the innocents, he said, adding, “Being a student it is our responsibility to urge for a peaceful world as it is the primary cause of the injustice.”
He claimed that the rally was a success and many people joined us in this peaceful venture. If required we will organize similar rallies in future urging for a peaceful land, he added.
