Cases of Madhya Pradesh Rajya Beemari Sahayata Nidhi for specialist treatment of poor patients can be sent directly to recognised private hospitals from districts. There will be no need for taking no objection certificate (NOC) for this. Poor persons can opt of treatment in the recognised hospitals of their choice. The orders have been issued by Health Department on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s directives.
Chouhan reviewed process of sanction of cases under Rajya Beemari Sahayata Nidhi and directed to simplify rules. He said that poor patients should not face difficulties due to complicated procedures and further directed to link up speciality hospital for serious diseases with the scheme. He directed to put up a proposal for enhancing assistance amount for kidney transplant and added that it was also necessary to consider giving assistance to two members of the same family.
It is noteworthy that under simplified rules, now collectors and district health & medical officers can send cases of specialist treatment directly to recognised private hospitals. For this, there will be no need for taking no-objection certificate from divisional medical college hospital. It may also be mentioned that Rajya Beemari Sahayata Nidhi was started in year 1997. Under it, Rs 25,000 to Rs 2 lakh assistance is given for treatment of serious diseases. This amount is given directly to hospitals though cheque. Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary Health Praveer Krishna, Secretary to CM Vivek Agrawal and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
