House of a railway employee was targeted by miscreants and gold and silver jewellery and Rs 30,000 in cash were burgled Radhakunj colony under Awadhpuri police station area on Tuesday.
According to the police the complainant Kusum Suman had gone to meet her daughter in Bilaspur and when he returned on Tuesday the locks were found broken and on entering the house the valuables were found burgled.
She informed her husband who works with railways and was at work when the burglary took place. A complaint was lodged with the Awadhouri police and in her complaint that she had gone to meet her daughter in Bilaspur while her husband had gone to work at the time of the incident.
In the burglary two gold chains, two gold bangles, one pair gold ear rings and four silver anklets and Rs 30,000 cash were found burgled. The total loss in the burglary was around Rs 1 lakh.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Police said that the victim raised suspicion that the domestic help might have hinted the miscreants as the almirah having the gold and silver jewelry and Rs 30000 cash were targeted while the other valuables were not disturbed.
During the further investigation domestic help and security guard of the area would be questioned. The CCTV cameras installed in the area would be searched in the investigation which could help in the investigation said police.
