Rahul to address two rallies today

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would arrive here in less than a fortnight to address two election rallies at Rahatgarh in Sagar district and Indore on Thursday, which party insiders said that this would be seen as official launching of election campaigns by the Congress party for the upcoming State Assembly elections due on November 25.

The Congress has been holding a series of ‘Satta Parivartan rallies’ over the last one month to highlight the shortcoming and failures of the 10-year rule of the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh and the Gandhi heir would address at these two places as a part of this ‘Parivartan rally’, said State Congress organisation incharge  Rameshwar Nikhra.

He further informed that arrangements for the rallies at two places have already been completed and added that all Congressmen and people in Bundelkhand and Malwa-Nimar regions were excited about Rahul coming. Congressmen would reach in big groups at the venue of rallies.

Resonance of the power packed and effective speeches delivered by Rahul Gandhi during the Satta Parivartan rallies at Shahdol and Gwalior last week had witnessed across the State.

Nikhra said that All India Congress Committee general secretary and State incharge Mohan Prakash, Central Urban Development Minister Kamalnath, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, chairman of Congress Election Campaign Committee and Union Power Minister Madhavrao Scindia, State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh are going to be present at the rallies.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesman Narendra Saluja said that Rahul Gandhi would appeal to voters to remove BJP from power in the State.

Malwa-Nimar region is a crucial one as it houses 66 Assembly seats and Congress does not want to take any chance which could hamper their efforts to win more number of seats and to make the rally a huge success the party workers are working hard.

At present, 65 per cent MlAs are of BJP which the party had won from Congress in 2008 elections but the position of the party is not so strong which has forced the party to reconsider many of its MlA in providing contesting field this time.
