Rahul: Madhya Pradesh university of corruption

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that Madhya Pradesh is university of corruption and claimed that development is not possible unless youth reaches in Assemblies and Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi was in Gwalior to address a public meeting for the State elections scheduled on November 25.

Gandhi attacked the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State over prevailing rampart corruption and said that the university of corruption is operated from Madhya Pradesh. The schools and colleges of corruption are also run here, he added.

Making scathing attack on the BJP the Congress vice president said that the saffron party talks of corruption in entire country but when it comes to Madhya Pradesh it becomes silent. He called on the youth to come out of the crowd and reach assemblies and parliament. Development of States and country is not possible unless and until youth enters the assemblies and parliament.

Addressing the record gathering of over a lakh the Congress vice president targeting youth asked the crowd that when the youth of state would get employmentIJ

The BJP talks of development but it does not understand the meaning of development. This country is not of roads, bridges and aero planes. This is the country of poor, and the BJP never talks of the people who walk on the roads and never talks of that poor who remain hungry. We have changed the meaning of development.

We have started talking about rights. We brought the right of food for the poor and land acquisition law for farmers.   Under this law not only the farmers would get four-fold compensation on market price but the laborers working in the fields would also get compensation, he added.

“BJP claims to have signed MOUs worth Rs one lakh crore but none of these MOUs has seen the light of the day. It is BJP’s habit to sign MOUs and do nothing. Instead, they are shutting the factories that exist,” he said. Gandhi said, “Whenever I talks about the poor the opposition asks that from where the funds would come.”

Expressing concern over the Ratangarh tragedy Gandhi said that the State Government does not respect people. A tragedy has happened at the place in 2006 but the government does not learnt any lesson due to that the tragedy struck again this time.

Reaching out to the youth, Rahul said the next Government in Madhya Pradesh will be formed by Congress and it will be a government of the youth.

“We will bring the maximum possible number of young people forward. We have to change Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is stuck up as far as development is concerned,” Rahul said.

“While I speak of opening up politics for the youth, the opposition ridicules me. Until we don’t have women and youth in the lok sabha and Vidhan Sabha, things are not going to change. It is essential to have representation of both women and youth in the panchayat system to lok Sabha,” he said.
