Despite several efforts of the district police, former Finance Minister Raghavji, who is accused in a sodomy case, is still elusive. Besides, on Raghavji’s behalf, his advocate on Monday filed an anticipatory bail application in a Bhopal district court.
On Sunday, Raghavji was in Vidisha, where he celebrated his birthday. later, in the evening two police vehicles followed him on way to Bhopal, but he gave a slip to the police and absconded.
Since Sunday night, he and his two gunmen’s mobile phones are switched off. The police officials said the last location of all the three mobile phones was traced in Sehore.
DIG D Srinivas Varma told The Pioneer that police are searching for the ex-minister, but he is still out of police reach. Since, the State Assembly session commenced on Monday, it was expected that Raghavji might reach there, and thus a huge police force was deployed in the Assembly premises, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Raghavji’s advocate Purushottam Panjwani, who is also vice president of Bhopal district Bar Association, filed anticipatory bail application in the court of Judge Sushma Khosla. The court has summoned the case diary and the petition is likely to be heard on Tuesday.
Besides, continuing with the high drama in the case, sodomy victim Rajkumar Dangi along with leader of Opposition in the State Assembly appeared in the
Habibganj police station on Monday evening, alleging that he was beaten up by police personnel threatening to withdraw the complaint.
However, police officials claimed that the allegations were baseless. The police personnel were on Sunday simply trying to send him to Hamidia hospital for mental examination, as his father had claimed that Rajkumar was not mentally sound.
On the occasion, Ajay Singh alleged that the State Government was safeguarding the former minister, because he is absconding for over 40 hours. He demanded that Raghavji should be arrested immediately.

In a surprising twist to the case, the medical examination of Rajkumar Dangi did not confirm that he has been sodomised. On a complaint by Rajkumar, the police have registered a case of sodomy against former finance minister Raghavji.
With this outcome of the medical examination report, the police officials were in dilemma now. Since, an FIR has already been registered and the police were making efforts to arrest Raghavji, this new revelation would certainly weaken the case in the court.
