Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa has congratulated Radio Azad Hind on being conferred South Asia Award, 2014. Radio Azad Hind was conferred finalist and runners-up prize for propagating Indian culture and its glorious heritage through community radio under Best Practices of Radio and Video Users Category of the Third The ENGO Challenge South Asia Award-2014.
Selection of Radio Azad Hind from among about 300 entries is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh. These entries had come from India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Srilanka.
Under the campaign for creating mass awareness about innumerable freedom fighters and unknown warriors of India’s freedom movement, Radio Azad Hind is the first community radio station in the country that took the initiative to include contents of over 170 community radio stations in its broadcasts. Radio’s website was also developed to globalise it through word space and internet.
