He further alleged that the quality the road that is being constructed on a budget of crores of rupees is very bad due to massive irregularities. Not only this, when villagers oppose these activities hired goons of the company attacked them misbehaving with women and children, he added.

The condition of the road is worse than earlier, he said, adding that the people of Rewa and Sidhi districts are encountering problems in using it.

Posing a supplementary, Viswamitra Pathak demanded that a committee should be constituted to inquire into the matter and a case registered against the

Contractor for polluting the environment.”

Replying to the charge, Minister Nagendra Singh said that as far as the matter of pollution is concerned, his ministry does not has the capacity to check it and that it can be probed only by the state Pollution Control Board.

He refuted the allegation of illegal extraction of soil and muroom as well as the allegation of misbehavior with women and children as baseless in lack of any complaint about such activity.

He further said that said that the company that was awarded the contract fired an employee who subsequently had a dispute with other employees and the contractor which led to an assault and a police case in the matter has already been lodged.
