A delegation of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh led by Purvottar Sanskritik Sansthaan’s State president Thakur Jagdish Singh and  Vidyapati Parishad secretary KK Jha met Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravishankar Prasad during the latter’s recent visit to the city and submitted a memorandum  requesting consideration of their long-pending railway demands.

Jha informed the Minister that in absence of a direct train, the people of Mithilanchal, Turhut regions of North Bihar as well as from various districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh who are living in Indore and adjoining regions since years, undergo immense inconveniences to reach their native places.

He said presently, there is only one Indore-Patna train which connects Indore with Bihar partially but it hardly serves any purpose for the people who have to go to various districts of North Bihar. The problems get compounded for these people during the holiday and festival season.

Thakur said as compared to other regions of the country, the train link between Indore and north-eastern States is missing because of lack of initiatives on the part of railway authorities.

The delegation members requested Union Minister to use his good office to impress upon the Rail Minister for inclusion of Indore-Darbhanga, Indore-Guwahati train and daily train between Indore and Patna in the next railway budget.
