Providing health services to common people as per their economic capacity is the real service to humanity said Governor Ram Naresh Yadav here on Sunday while inaugurating cardiac care centre of JK Hospital.
On this occasion Union health and Family Welfares Minister Gulam Nabi Azad, Union IT Minister Kapil Sibbal and state Home Minister Umashankar Gupta were the guests of honour.
Yadav further said that it is not only the responsibility of Government to ensure proper health services to people of rural and remote areas, but private medical institutions and voluntary organisations should also come forward for this.
Yadav said that private medical institutions should come out of commercial limits and work with spirit of service and dedication. He said that foremost responsibility is to win the trust of people visiting hospitals with expectations of better treatment. Despite availability of all modern facilities, fear psychosis about some diseases assumes alarming proportions.
He urged private medical institutions to create awareness about diseases and their treatment in remote and backward areas.
At the function, Union Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal said Private sector’s role should be increased in the education field.
Talking about JK hospital, he said that he did not think that he will witness such infrastructure and facility in Madhya Pradesh. The JK Hospital and medical college is an example of far sightedness in the field of education.
Sibal further said that by year 2020, the average age of Indians will be 29 years and will be the largest youth population in the world but in coming years India will have largest number of elderly people for which better medical facilities and doctors will be required.
Constructing infrastructure will not be enough instead human resources development is required. Sibal said that law should be enforced for production of medical instrumentations, as presently all the equipments used in treatment are imported only which decreases the Indian foreign exchange and weaken Indian rupees.
Union Health & Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad lauded Madhya Pradesh government for works being undertaken under Janani Suraksha Yojana.
He said that the Union Government will extend every possible assistance for health care of women and children.
Azad congratulated lNCT group for their achievement and said that health sector is most important sector related to a human being for that purpose only, under the leadership of UPA President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manomohan Singh have introduced revolutionary programme like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and promoted development of private medical colleges by easing the norms.
