The students of National law Institute University (NlIU) continuing with the protest against corrupt administration wrote post-cards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind.
The protest by NlIU students entered its sixth day as students continue to stay at college campus despite the cold weather and wore black ribbon on fore-heads and arms.
On Monday the students wrote postcards to Prime Minister and President of the country mentioning about their demands and problems. As many as 600 postcards were written and posted on Monday by individual student wherein they have mentioned what the administration is upto.
“This is a peaceful protest and we just want the resignation of director SS Singh,” the students told The Pioneer. “We have mentioned about our problems in the postcards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind in a hope that some positive action will be taken soon,” added the students.
Continuing with the modern age Satyagrah, the NlIU students staged a sit-in at the Academic Blocks, challenging the teachers to trample over the students lying down on the floor. “It was a symbolic demo of how the oppressive Director has trampled over our rights,” said the students.
However, the teachers recognized the students' cause and refused to hold classes, effectively putting a rest to the director's scheme of subjugating the protest by holding the students' attendance hostage.
Police has continually been a present threat to the unarmed students from day one, even on Monday the Special Task Force kept a keen eye over the students’ activities. Besides, the administration has installed CCTV cameras in front of director’s house and at some areas of the college to keep a watch at the students.
However, the director is still refusing to face the students who have been sleeping on the streets in painfully cold weather.
Besides, a delegation was sent by the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Hemant Gupta consisting of the Principal Secretary of law AM Saxena and the Commissioner of Higher Education Neeraj Mandloi to interact with the students on Monday.
“The matter is slated to be heard by the Chief Justice of the MP HC on Wednesday with us. We hope that Chief Justice will accept our righteous demand for the director's removal,” informed the students.
