Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has instructed the departmental officers to take appropriate measures to protect the public from heat stroke in the cities. He has said that in the identified places (markets, bus stands etc.) arrangements should be made for adequate shady places (sheds) for protection from heat stroke. Arrangement of the first aid box should also be made in coordination with the health department for first aid to prevent heat stroke at these identified places.
Singh has said that provision of cold water should be made at the identified places and arrangements should be made for common people to sit and people suffering from heatstroke to rest. Put up banners showing necessary precautions for the public related to "protection from heat stroke" at identified places and make arrangements for "protection from heat stroke" at ashrams, passenger waiting rooms, sheds made for labourers and other places also. In places where alm seekers and physically weak and differently-abled people live in large numbers, arrangements for cool water and shade should be made there.
Along with this, the urban bodies should also take necessary action at other required places as per need. In this regard, instructions have been issued to all the urban bodies by Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Bharat Yadav.
