An event based on eminent poet and writer Majrooh Sultanpuri will be organised on Saturday. Renowned film artist, director and producer Sachin Pilgaonkar and Rumi Jaffrey- Mumbai will be present on the occasion.
It is organised by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Acadrmy. Giving information about the programme, Nusrat Mehdi, Secretary of the Academy said that this programme is being organized as Yade Majrooh Sultanpuri Ekagra Smriti Samaroh. The programme will be held in three sessions.
In the first session, Nauman Khan and Sadiq Majrooh will present their research papers on the poetry of Sultanpuri. In the second session, eminent film actors, directors and producers Sachin Pilgaonkar and Rumi Jaffrey - Mumbai will discuss on the personality and creativity and Urdu and films.
Iqbal Masood and Samina Siddiqui will conduct both the sessions respectively, she informed further.
All India Mushaira will be organized in the last session at 6:00 PM in which Kalim Qaiser- Gorakhpur, Popular Meeruti- Meerut, Naeem Akhtar Khadmi- Burhanpur, Arif Ali Arif- Bhopal, Qazi Malik Naved- Bhopal, Salma Shaheen- Delhi, Renu Nayyar - Chandigarh, Tara Iqbal - Lucknow and Dhirendra Singh Fayaz - Indore will present poetry.
Majrooh Sultanpuri, was an Indian Urdu poet and lyricist in India's Hindi language film industry. He wrote Hindustani lyrics for numerous Hindi film soundtracks.
