The investigation into allegations of molestation and hate speech against Dr Deepak Maravi, Superintendent of Hamidia Hospital, has started from Friday. The Internal Complaints Committee constituted by the Divisional Commissioner directed all the 850 nurses of the hospital to present before the committee and give written statements.

For this, forms were distributed to all the nurses from the morning with their names and asked to write statements in it. However, on the first day only 250 nurses came to give a statement. It is being told that other nurses have demanded to record their statement in the Divisional Commissioner's office.

It is known that the statements of the nurses are being taken in the old dean's office in Gandhi Medical College itself. The commissioner has directed a five-member committee to investigate the matter and submit its report in ten days.

Earlier, a complaint letter signed by 52 nurses against Superintendent Dr Maravi had reached Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang. In this, Dr Deepak Maravi was accused of obscenity and intimidation by the nurses. On this, the Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang had directed the Divisional Commissioner Gulshan Bamra to conduct an investigation which started from Wednesday.

Here Manju Meshram, president of the Contract Nurses Association, has accused senior officials of the superintendent's office of intimidating the nurses. He said that the nurses who are on contract are being told that they will lose their jobs if they give statements against the superintendent.

Here some nurses have also raised objection in giving statement before the committee. These nurses said that two professors of medical colleges are included in the committee, so they will not give a statement in front of them.
