The district administration has begun an investigation into the issuance of a BPl (Below Poverty line) card in the name of Shivpuri Muncipality Chairman Munnalal Kushwaha.
According to official information, Kushwaha was issued BPl card in 2004. He has been availing ration on the card, since then.
He became the municipality chairman last year but he continued to avail the facility.
He said he had applied for the BPl card, when he used to live in kutcha house in 2004. He applied for the name being removed from the BPl list in 2008.
Municipality Chairman claimed that he is not aware of what happened later. local Bharatiya Janata Party workers took out a rally against Kushwaha and demanded that a case be registered against him.
Banners and posters have been put over the issue across the town.
