A private school principal committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at his Prempura School under Kamla Nagar police station area on Friday afternoon.
The police have recovered a suicide note near the body.
According to the police, victim’s brother Ajay Singh spotted the victim Surendra Singh Baghel (44) found hanging at their New Cultural Higher Secondary School at Prempura.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
In the suicide note, the victim has mentioned that he has been sentenced in a long legal battle in the Jabalpur high court and he does not want to serve the jail term, this is why, he is forced to take the extreme step.
However, the police were not able to provide the details of the case and told that the details could be revealed after recording the statements of the family members.
Before committing suicide he informed his brother Ajay to come after an hour to exchange the car and committed suicide.
The victim was a resident of Kararia farms near Coach Factory and was a Congress party worker.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have sent the body for the post mortem.
