With a view to facilitating continuation of higher education of tribal students, their admission fee prescribed by fee regulatory committee will be reimbursed by the State Government for studies in recognised private colleges in and outside the state. Earlier, the state government reimbursed fee for such students as prescribed by government colleges. Instead of it, the government will reimburse the minimum fee prescribed by admission and fee regulatory committee, which is more than that prescribed earlier. The courses for which increased fee will be reimbursed by the state government include MBBS, BDS, BE, polytechnics, nursing course, B. Pharma, B. Ed. and higher courses.
As per fee prescribed by admission and fee regulatory committee, Rs3.75 lakh instead of Rs38,800 will be reimbursed for MBBS, Rs1.43 lakh instead of Rs36,600 for BDS, Rs37,000 instead of Rs29,450 for BE, Rs37,000 instead of Rs28,100 for B. Pharma, Rs25,000 instead of Rs6,000 for B. Ed. and Rs22,000 instead of Rs11,000 tuition fee will be reimbursed for tribal students for diploma in engineering.
For ensuring transparency in providing post-matric scholarships to tribal students, the Tribal Welfare Department has started process of online receipt of applications, online sanction and online direct deposit in bank accounts. As a result of availability of enhanced fee prescribed by admission and fee regulatory committee, tribal students will have adequate facility to get admission in selected courses.
