The fest was orgsnised by The Rising Society of Art and Culture.
The play was directed by Ashish Shrivastava and was performed by the artists of Chetna Theatre.
The Chakravarti king of Delhi, Prithviraj Chauhan, defeated Sultan Mohammad Ghori of Ghor 17 times in a battle and granted him pardon every time Ghori apologized. After the defeat of Mohammad Ghori for the seventh time, it was realized that he could not defeat Prithviraj without the help of any brave king of India. That's why he started making plans to get some king of India year with him.
King Jaichand of Kannauj considered himself to be the most powerful king of the year of India and in order to get himself called as Chakravarti emperor, he organized Rajasurya Yagya and Swayamvar of his only daughter Sanyogita in which he invited all the kings of India but, he neither invited Prithviraj, but with the intention of humiliating him, made an effigy of him in the swayamvara and made him stand at the gatekeeper's place.
Prithviraj disguised himself as a swayamvar and stands as an effigy. Sanyogita leaves all the kings present in the swayamvara and puts a garland around the neck of the effigy Prithviraj. Prithviraj, accepting Sanyogita as his wife, returns to Delhi with Sanyogita after defeating the kings present in the swayamvara. Due to his humiliation and the kidnapping of his daughter in the filled court, Jaichand gets stunned and sends his messenger to Ghazni to send a message to Mohammad Ghori that he should again attack Prithviraj and this time his entire army will support him in this war.
Mohammad Ghori is very happy to get this message. Here, after marriage to Sanyogita, Prithviraj's attention is not focused on official work and he remains immersed in her love for many months. Here Mohammad Ghori attacks again, there is a war between the armies of Prithviraj, Mohammad Ghori and Jaichand and this time Prithviraj is defeated.
Prithviraj is taken by Mohammad Ghori to Ghazni where he gets both his eyes blown with iron bars.
Prithviraj's childhood friend and royal poet Chandrabardai gives Prithviraj an opportunity to show his archery to take vengeance from Gauri. Since Prithviraj knows how to shoot arrows, as soon as Gauri orders Prithviraj to shoot arrows in his court, Prithviraj kills Mohammad Gauri by shooting an arrow in the direction of Gauri's voice. Mohammad Ghori's soldiers could not commit any atrocities on Prithviraj, so Chandrabardai stabs Prithviraj in his stomach. In this way the last Hindu emperor of India has a sad end. The play was beautifully performed.
