Jehangirabad police on Thursday nabbed the main accused who opened fire at a crime branch police personnel and tried to rob him at Thandi Sadak locality under Jehangirabad police station on September18. The police have recovered a country-made pistol from his possession.
Police said that the absconding accused Vishal Thakur who was wanted in the firing and attempt to rob the victim Pushpendra Singh Bhadoria was nabbed by Jehangirbad police late in the night on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off regarding a youth with a country-made pistol a police team was rushed to the spot and searched for the youth and detained. A country made pistol was recovered from his possession and in the further investigation nabbed accused was identified as Vishal Thakur who was wanted in robbery and attempt to murder case.
After the incident two of the three miscreants were nabbed on the same day of the incident but the third remained absconding and was later caught from Bheem Nagar area on Thursday.
The police have registered a case under section 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and have started further investigation.
Notably Jehangirabad police nabbed two miscreants who tried to rob and opened fire at police personnel of crime branch near on Thandi Sadak locality under Jehangirabad police station area late in the night on September 18. Victim Bhadoria posted with the crime branch was attacked with the aim to rob him but when he opposed the miscreants opened fire at him and escaped the spot. The two arrested miscreants were identified as Pradeep Pal and Yogesh alias Monu Manjhi while the third who pointed gun at the victim at the time of the robbery is still at large.
