National Health Mission director Jaishree Kiyawat has said that diabetes test would be included in post delivery tests for females.
He told the officials in a meeting convened here on Friday. In the meeting the work plan of this programme was also discussed.
The post maternal test for diabetes will begin after it is carried out on a trial basis in Hoshangabad district. Based on the results at Hoshangabad the programme will be spread across the state.
The director of the Mission said that the training will be given to the squad members of the programme at ground level. The required equipments and medicines have been arranged.
Diabetes is one of the causes of death of women during pregnancy and that is why this project was undertaken.
