There was a reason for celebrations in Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the hard work by State BJP unit’s two leaders, who were in-charge of elections in Haryana and Maharashtra, yielded better results on Sunday.
It is believed that both the leaders — IT Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and State BJP Organisational general secretary Arvind Menon might get bigger responsibilities in coming days.
In Haryana, Minister for IT in Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijayvargiya was shouldered the responsibility of Haryana Assembly elections. He discharged his duties earnestly by camping in Haryana for more than a month. Vijayvargiya had also taken his team of dedicated party workers from Indore. The Vijayvargiya supporters worked round-the-clock accepting all the tough responsibilities related to the elections. The Minister also remained absent from the major event of Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) that was held early this month in Indore and remained active in Haryana.
Vijayvargiya while talking to The Pioneer attributed the credit of huge victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah. “Modi’s leadership and Shah’s organisation skills helped us in winning the faith of the people,” he said.
Arvind Menon was given responsibility of 62 seats in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and out of 62 seats, the BJP registered victory in 42 constituencies. In 2009 Assembly polls the BJP had contested on 39 seats and wrested 19 constituencies. Besides, this was the region where the BJP had demanded more seats’ share from the Shiv Sena before going for Vidhan Sabha polls in Maharashtra.
In the early afternoon when the trends showed clear victory of the saffron party in Haryana, hoardings were erected in favour of State Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. Similarly, at the State BJP headquarters, party’s victory in both Haryana and Maharashtra were celebrated by using firecrackers and distributing sweets.
