Police stations to monitor PCR vans now

Published on:

With an aim to make the Police Control Room (PCR) vans more efficient, saving on fuel and time, monitoring of PCR vans has been handed over to the police stations. Earlier, they were monitored by the Police Control Room.

SSP Bhopal Raman Singh Sikarwar said that it is restructuring of the existing arrangement which would save fuel and money and would also save the police personnel from tiredness.

The PCR vans have to report by visiting police control room and if a PCR has to be deployed at Bairagarh then the van has to report first at the police control room and leave for the point. However, in the new arrangement the van would directly report to the destined division which would save time, energy and fuel, he added.

The earlier arrangement in which two police personnel with a driver having a 12 hour has been maintained. The PCR vans are deployed at highways to reach at the earliest to provide help to the victims and in the new arrangement the police stations could use the PCR as they are more and better informed about the requirements of their area and could operate the PCR van in the best form.

In the earlier arrangement the PCR vans were divided in Old city area which covered Mata Mandir, Roshanpura, Piplani, Board Office and Misrod and the New City area which covered lalghati, Alpana Talkies area, Polytechnic Square and Khajuri. In the new system 12 divisions at police station levels have been made and the monitoring would be done at the police station levels. The response time would decrease and the monitoring would be in an efficient manner.
