The Hanumanganj police seized a car transporting liquor illegally and recovered 144 liters of cartons of liquor from Geeta Nagar road on Monday; a man carrying the liquor in the car was arrested by the police.
Acting on a tip off, a car bearing registration number MP04CH9925 was tracked and stopped and when the car was searched, two cartons of liquor were recovered.
The driver along with liquor accelerated and tried to evade but was nabbed. The arrested was identified as Devi Prasad Rai Bhanpur Bhopal.
The liquor was found packed in different packets and the customers which were scheduled to receive the liquor would be investigated in the further investigation.
During the investigation details of accused and regarding procurement and delivery of the liquor would be investigated.
After the preliminary investigation, a case under section 34 (A) of the Excise Act. The buyers of the liquor provided by the accused would be investigated in the further investigation.
For the past few days, complaints were being received continuously for transporting liquor illegally, on receipt of the information officials directed to take effective action, the beat in-charge and officers of the police station area were informed about their 2 beat areas which helped in arresting the accused.
The crime record of the accused and his involvement in illegal transport of liquor would be investigated. The nexus behind the illegal liquor trade would be unearthed in the further investigation.
