Police Commissionerate introduces new complaint-handling system

Published on:

To enhance the experience of citizens visiting police stations and to streamline the process of hearing public grievances, the Indore Police Commissionerate has implemented a new complaint management system under Urban Zone-2.

Acting on the directives of Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abhinav Vishwakarma has rolled out a revamped system across all police stations under Zone-2. As part of this initiative, dedicated cabins for duty officers have been set up at each police station, allowing citizens to submit their complaints directly and in a more structured manner.

In addition to operational improvements, emphasis has also been placed on ensuring basic facilities for complainants, including seating arrangements and access to drinking water, to create a more citizen-friendly environment at police stations.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been developed for duty officers to ensure that every applicant is heard with sensitivity and professionalism, and that appropriate legal action is taken on the basis of the complaint. Police personnel have undergone training to implement this SOP effectively.

With these reforms, the Indore Police aim to foster greater transparency, accountability, and ease of access for the public, ensuring that no complainant faces difficulty in approaching or interacting with the police.
