Many police personnel and students were injured in a clash between the police and NSUI activists over corruption in Jiwaji University. The secretary of the State Congress Mohit Jat and former president of NSUI Nitoo Jadon objected police action saying police let senior Congress leaders go free despite evidence. Now the police would nominate the people against whom there will be proof like photo and video footage. But there was division in NSUI between Rajoria and Bhanu Tomar group. Due to this the agitation could not be successful.
The District Congress Committee president Darshan Singh joined the demonstration and faced the lathicharge by the police. He said, “the students were demonstrating peacefully. I stopped the police and students from committing violence but the police lathicharged the students and even me.” He condemned the incident and called a meeting, after that he would meet the Gwalior IG.
The ASP Rahul lodha said that the names of the agitators have been added according to the list. We have photos and video of whole incident. On verification we would take the next action.
