The MP Nagar police have booked a man for sexually assaulting and exploiting a 34 -year-old woman using her obscene photographs. The victim lodged a complaint on Tuesday after accused made her photographs viral few days ago.
Police said both the accused identified as Ravi Methil and victim were acquainted and were neighbours. The victim used to have fight with her husband frequently and in the year 2018 accused accompanied her to a hotel in MP Nagar after she left house due to a fight with her husband where accused sexually assaulted her and took obscene photographs and later continued to sexually exploit her.
After committing the heinous crime the accused threatened her to make obscene photographs viral. Later when the victim asked to marry the accused he refused and threatened her life if the victim informed to her family and police about the incident. But the victim informed the incident to the family.
Later, the victim was blackmailed by using obscene photographs which he had taken earlier of the victim. The victim discontinued to use her existing mobile number and when she took new mobile number accused obtained whatsapp details and sent her obscene photographs to her relatives. Police have registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and sections of IT Act have started further investigation.
The accused went missing from March 18 and after the complaint was lodged and case was registered search has been intensified. The accused hails from Uttar Pradesh and police suspects that he went to Uttar Pradesh after the victim reported the incident.
