The police have taken two persons in custody in connection with the double murder that was reported in Naveen Nagar of Aishbagh locality on Saturday. The bodies of Sunita lalwani (40) and her daughter Divya (19) were recovered from their apartment in Naveen Nagar.
During the initial investigation, Divya’s father Raju lalwani had told that Harish Rajak used to threaten her daughter for past six months and based on the statements, police raided several places, but were not able to find Harish. He was later nabbed from Jhansi on Sunday.
Around half a dozen persons were detained by the police and later, after questioning, they were released. Only one more person, who is a friend of Harish, has been arrested. Soon after the murder, the miscreants had fed the scene with two mobile phones. One of the mobile phones was gifted by Harish to Divya, which was confirmed by her family members.
Harish went missing after the murder and was later nabbed. Police said that the investigation is on and the details of the murder and killers could be revealed by Monday. Harish and his friend would be questioned to reveal the reason behind the killing of mother and daughter.
Police said that the Sunita and Divya were killed between 4 pm and 6 pm. To avoid alerting the neighbours, killers put cloth in Sunita and Divya’s mouth and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons. Sunita’s father Gurumal Pursnani told that Harish used to harass Divya and was not ready to mend his ways even after Divya’s father Raju warned him to stay away from Divya.
