Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) State president and MP Nandakumar Singh Chouhan and State organisational general secretary Arvind Menon thanked the farmers for the successful completion of the Farmers’ Convention at Sherpur, Sehore on Thursday.

Chouhan said that the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the convention glorified its social and economic status. The farmers were overwhelmed listening to the minute details of the crop insurance policy directly from the PM, he added.

The voluntary participation of farmers in the convention was the effort of the party workers and the hard work of farmers said Chouhan and Menon. They praised the hard of the party workers. The way in which farmers came to Sherpur proves the importance of the Crop Insurance Policy in their life and that is the reason it became a success, said Chouhan.

Out of 14 crore farmer families 50 per cent will be brought under this insurance policy within two years. After independence none of the insurance policies that came into existence profited farmers more than 23 per cent. Actual insurance was of the loan amount. In PM Crop Insurance Policy the insurance will be of the product.

Chouhan said that in this insurance policy at the lowest premium the crop will be insured and the farmers will get maximum profit. The insurance claim will be cleared easily and in time soon after the loss is evaluated. Previous crop insurance schemes were meant only as the insurance companies’ income source.
